We have come down to the final hours. The trucks are packed, the checklist complete and we roll down the shop doors. Tonight each member heads home to get one last night’s sleep before we depart on our adventure to the 50th anniversary of the Baja 1000.
I write to you with the most sentiment we have expressed yet. We can only think tonight of the excitement and fear of the unknown events to occur. As a team we are emphasizing tonight and as we depart tomorrow to take on a specific mind set for the race. We race in the memory of Gordon Scott a dear friend, mentor and epic racer. As we drive his Jeep we can only hope to uphold his legacy.
Each member has been asked to take pride in the monumental work they have done to get us this far and to take time to remind themselves that we are about to embark on an great adventure. We go down there focused on the race, making sure to embrace each moment and to make it memorable. We head down with the same passion and determination that has gotten us this far. So that we may work hard to cross that finish line and reign victorious over this desert challenge.
